California Through New Eyes

Finley...
...stayed in her first hotel...
...marched through Disneyland Main Street grandly with her family...
...proudly wore mouse ears...
...rode trains, jungle cruises, Toy Story rides, saw fireworks, princesses, and Muppets...
...patiently waited while Mom went on the big kid rides......watched Uncle Jeff do a jig with Goofy...
...witnessed the magical moment that was five adults cracking up on Dumbo...
...had the F claimed for Finley...
...held Mom's hand during Small World (her favorite ride) and listened while Mom told her the most important thing in the world is to be kind--to strangers, to animals, but especially to your loved ones because they test your patience the most, that we're all a little different but we're mostly just the same...
...saw the ocean for the first time and heard stories about the mysterious creatures that live in it...
...was introduced to an old teacher of Mom's and made a new friend...
...chose her first Disney souvenier (stuffed Thumper)...
...learned that even though the signs said the beach closed at 10 P.M., the beach was hers (so said Mommy)...
...watched Tinkerbell fly above the fireworks and was told by a sobbing Mom that she could be whatever she wanted...
...got her first memories of Disneyland, laid alongside Mom's lifetime of memories...
...had a successful first vacation...
Phew.

welcome back! some things to say-

1- way to not make a family vacation blog sound and look just like every other vacation blog. In so little words, you somehow un-suck that and make it delightful.

2- I want to frame that picture of her in the hat and glasses at the beach with her little lips coming right at you, and I'm not even sort of related to her. People in my office would be like, "whose baby is that?" and it would actually be worth the long explanation.
