Kabul Beauty School. This book is nothing like I expected it to be. It's very simple, actually, with hardly any political undertones. An American woman decides to open a beauty school in Kabul, Afghanistan, and absolutely falls in love with the people there. That, inevitably, breaks her heart, as she has to watch the desecration of the country by OUR U.S. warfare. Highly recommended.
