Just read about a PETA tactic: handing out fliers to little kids coming out of matinee movies or ballets. The fliers include a color drawing of a woman plunging a bloody knife into the belly of a terrified rabbit, with a caption that says, "Ask your mommy how many dead animals she killed to make her fur coat."
As long as PETA is educating the public on how similar animals and humans are (and thus should be protected as well as humans are), maybe they should pause and reflect on how a mother bear reacts when someone threatens her cubs.
