I am the biggest re-reader. Few books I have read once I haven't re-read three or even twenty times. In fact, I can think of two: Ender's Game (gag) and the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, which is not so much a book but a desperate state of mind.
Right now I'm re-reading Midwives by Chris Bohjalian, and it's a fantastic courtroom drama. (Pretend I rolled my arrrrrrs dramatically.) Even though I secretly know what's going to happen in the end, I imagine that I don't. Then I comfort myself when I am shocked, I play guessing games with myself--what's going to happen? Then myself and myself grab another Otter Pop and curl up together to peel back the layers of this fantastically simple mystery about whether a midwife delivering a baby knew the mother was dead before performing an emergency C-section.
Yeah, I'm crazy.
